The Harrisonburg Backyard Chicken Project invites the public to a City Chicken Information and Discussion Event. The public forum will be held Tuesday, June 2 from 7-8 p.m. in the meeting rooms at the Main Branch of the Massanutten Regional Library.
Proposals for chickens in the city spark strong sentiments for many. A number of concerns have been raised and benefits posited by parties on various sides of the issue. The HBCP wishes to continue the conversation with the broader community.
This public event is organized with the intent to provide general information about keeping chickens in the city and to create a space for discussion about interests and concerns related to the proposal before city council to allow chickens.
